Big-Data & Smart-Care Center
Big-Data & Smart-Care Center
The Big Data & Smart Care Center at Yonsei University was established in March 2021 under Y-NICE to advance data-driven nursing research and to support innovation in future nursing practice through digital healthcare. As healthcare shifts from treatment-centered models to prevention- and health management–oriented approaches, the importance of clinical data utilization, smart medical device development, and interdisciplinary collaboration continues to grow. In response to these changes, the Center focuses on the following three key areas:
- Education and Support for Data-Driven Nursing Research
The Center strengthens research capacity by offering specialized training programs for nursing researchers and graduate students, including SCRAP (Severance Clinical Research Analysis Portal) seminars, clinical data analysis workshops, and big-data utilization courses. - Smart Medical Device and Standardization Research
The Center contributes to enhancing the clinical applicability and safety of smart care technologies through the development of advanced smart medical devices, including catheter-based sensing systems for infection prevention and management, as well as through professional activities such as medical device standardization seminars. - Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Research Platform Development
The Center fosters collaboration among nursing faculty, clinicians, engineers, and digital health experts to promote the development of technologies needed in clinical nursing practice, solve real-world care challenges, and build sustainable research networks.
Through these initiatives, the Big Data & Smart Care Center aims to elevate the quality of nursing research, facilitate the practical adoption of digital healthcare technologies, and contribute to evidence-based nursing practice-ultimately advancing public health and the future of nursing.
